I went to a workshop this weekend sponsored by leaders in Young Living who support me and my team. I learned so much about Young Living products, different uses for essential oils and nutritional supplements. And since most of us in the room were business builders (we share the oils and make it our life’s work), we got solid leadership training too. It was a great day!
I was clear within the first 20 minutes what my takeaway for the day would be. I need to lead with my story. I have a story to tell and I need to be willing to share it. I have my big health story and of course, I have other side bits to tell too! I have blogged much of it here but I need to keep doing it, keep spreading the word. I don’t need to be shy about telling people what a difference the oils have made in my life. And more importantly, I don’t need to be afraid to say, “Essential oils have changed my life and have supported me in so many ways allowing me a level of functioning I haven’t experienced before.” Yes. I need say that.
Telling my story, leading with my story, sharing how essential oils support my wellness, purpose and abundance- that was my takeaway- not because the presenter said, “You need to lead with your story.” She didn’t need to tell me that. She told hers. And I understood on a visceral level how powerful her story was. Because I have one too. And most of us who are introduced to essential oils have a powerful story, especially if they are like most of my oily friends and colleagues who use the oils everyday in every way.
Today I am grateful that I was given a message in a bottle- well, it was actually 11 bottles- little bottles with the essence of the earth inside them. Those little drops have made all the difference in the world for me.
