Those are buzz words that have a familiar ring for those of us who are working on the goals that make our dreams come to fruition.
What is your Vision?
I recently created a new course (Intuitive Aromatherapy Specialist Certificate) for anyone embarking on a business focused on Essential Oils.
Those of us who are Young Living “Business Builders” frequently develop new tools to help our team members grow, from product education to network marketing webinars and leadership workshops.
I needed to create something different- I needed my creation to reflect me.
My Vision
And my vision is helping, assisting, mentoring and coaching people along their personal growth and wellness journey. My vision is a holistic approach to career, wellness, life. My vision as a Young Living Business Builder is to incorporate my skills as a wellness coach into my everyday work with people on my team. Whether someone wants to know what individual oil they can use to support their immunity, to how many meetings, educational workshops and gatherings they should have to build a substantial income- I use my skills a a coach and holistic healer in my approach.
Wellness Practitioner 1st, Network Marketing 2nd
While I represent a company that follows the business model of network marketing and direct sales, my goal is to remain a healer and a coach. That seems obvious, right? I thought so too at first. But the deeper the dive, the more I see that many people who set out in network marketing – even with the product at the lead- even when the product or service is what convinced them to “buy in” as a smart business move- end up being professional network marketing leaders.
What do I mean by that? Don’t get me wrong, There is nothing wrong with becoming so successful in a network marketing company that you want to lead other people to grow using solid network marketing tools and techniques- but that doesn’t really fit my style or vision. I want to continue to grow as a leader with Young Living AND I want to use my skills as a healer and a coach to do it. I want to attract and recruit like-minded people- other healers, coaches, therapists and lightworkers- into the Young Living family, to coach and teach folks how to use the products for themselves and their family AND how to incorporate essential oils into their business. And I want to teach them what I know- what I am skilled at, what I have learned during my career as a thought leader in the helping professions. My team members need those network marketing leadership skills too. But that isn’t what I do.
Setting Intentions
Said differently, I write this blog post today to set my intention- to never lose sight of what brought me to this place in my journey. At first I was intrigued and I thought essential oils might be another revenue stream at best. And then I had my own life-changing experiences in my health and wellness, and I decided essential oils had to be that pivotal “thing” I do.
And then, as time passed and I found my groove, I remembered my life’s path- what I have done as my career, the 20 years as a psychotherapist, the past 10 years as a coach, healer, teacher mentor, and I knew I needed to remain in that healing, coaching, mentoring role, infusing the oils in everything I do. Sometimes it is just semantics. But for me, in this moment, it is claiming who I am and what I do- not losing my way, yet building my dream with new energy and vision.
And by the way, while I am loyal to the Young Living Essential Oils brand, my aromatherapy course is brand-neutral.
